Bayside Academy students welcomed the first day of school on August 13 th with their traditional ice cream social. Early School children enjoyed their ice cream with classmates while all other students gathered on the bluff for the cold treat.

Baldwin County High School Fishing Team members stopped by a recent Bay Minette City Council meeting to say thanks for sponsoring the team utility trailer. Coach Will Galloway brought along the new enclosed trailer, which will be used to help haul team equipment to tournaments. “As we travel all over the State of Alabama we will put this trailer to good use storing our tent, ice chest, food, drinks, tables, chairs, generators, and of course extra tackle,” said Coach Will Galloway. “Thank you for supporting the youth in our community.” The Fishing Team is already dropping lines for this season and has a full slate of tournaments already on the calendar.

Bayshore Christian School joyfully welcomed students back for the first day of the 2025–2026 school year. Grammar School students kicked off the morning with music, bubbles, and balloons, while Logic & Rhetoric students arrived in crisp uniforms, fresh haircuts, and with bright smiles. Faculty, staff, and families celebrated the blessing of another year to nurture students academically and spiritually, all to the glory of God.

Bayshore Christian School’s Grammar School Meet the Teacher last month was filled with bright smiles, warm hugs, and joyful greetings. Students and families reconnected with friends and teachers, sharing in the excitement of a new year on the horizon. With just one day before the first bell, anticipation filled the air, setting the tone for another year of learning, growth, and adventure for our Eagles.

At Cultivate Studios, learning goes beyond the books. Our young learners rolled up their sleeves to help assemble furniture for the brand-new Daphne campus, turning teamwork, problem-solving, and hands-on creativity into a real-world learning adventure. Together, they’re building more than a space—they’re building a community!

The first day of school in Fifth grade at Fairhope East was super cool! Students studied science by making ice cream in a bag and discussed the physical and chemical changes that occurred.

All Bayside Academy faculty members heard from Kimberly Carraway of The Carraway Center in Birmingham during Faculty In-Service on Thursday, August 7. Ms. Carraway, a leading educator and “teacher of teachers,” specializes in the integration of cognitive neuroscience and teaching and learning strategies. She holds degrees in Cognitive Studies and Elementary Education from Vanderbilt University and in Learning and Teaching from Harvard University. She works nationally with schools and educators bringing usable knowledge and practical cognitive neuroscience applications directly to the classroom.

St. James Lower School students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade kicked off the first day of school with big smiles and boundless energy. We’re excited to watch them learn, grow, and thrive in the year ahead!

IB juniors at Fairhope High School started the year with riddles to figure out key Theory of Knowledge concepts like values, perspectives, ethics, and certainty. TOK is a required interdisciplinary IB course.

Seniors transformed their spaces into works of art, showcasing their unique personalities and preparing for the first day of school. Their artistic talent and school spirit made this new tradition a memorable start to their senior year.

Pine Grove Elementary is proud to announce the formation of our new 2025–2026 Flag Team! This exciting new group of students is eager to learn and grow together as they represent our school with spirit and pride. With their enthusiasm and dedication, we know this team is going to accomplish great things throughout the year.

Bayside Academy freshmen spent Tuesday, August 12, participating in the 9th Grade Orientation. After meeting with SGA students for a tour of Bayside’s Upper School, the classmates traveled to Eastern Shore Lanes for an afternoon of camaraderie and bowling.

St. Patrick Catholic School is a family in more ways than one! 5th grade Teacher/VP Kelly Cote welcomed four of her grandchildren as students made their ways in the front doors on the 1st day of school.

Swift Consolidated Elementary School is so proud of our 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Michaels! She recently won a special award. A previous student nominated her for “A Teacher That Inspired Me” award through CBEF. We are so baldwinproud of her!

Warrior Proud! Two of our Elberta High School students, Kortlyn White and Seamus Owens, were chosen to represent Elberta High School at the 2025 Alabama Hoby Leadership Conference, May 23-25 at Troy University. These students participated in a variety of activities designed to enhance their leadership skills and civic engagement. The activities included hearing from speakers on topics like volunteerism and current events, as well as participating in discussions and debates, engaging in community service projects and developing leadership skills through workshops and team-building exercises. The conference aims to help students understand their own leadership strengths and values, and how to collaborate with others to make a positive impact. When the students returned they were invited to attend the Perdido Bay Optimist Club meeting to share their experience and what they learned about being a leader in their schools and community. They are pictured here being honored at the club’s breakfast meeting held on June 28th by the Hoby Chair person, Kat Keener and Club President, Robin Newal.

What a great day for Loxley Elementary! Principal McClure, Assistant Principal McKenzie, and Building and Ground Manager Mr. Bryant joined Assistant Superintendent Sharp with the builders to see the progress on our new school. It is huge and magnificent. Fall of 2026 is our projected move in time. We can’t wait to make this our new home! Enjoy the photos and dream of moving in next year!

What an awesome first day here at Rosinton Elementary!

Fairhope West Elementary School welcomed students back for a wonderful first day of school!

At J. Larry Newton School, Mrs. Vivar’s class became scientists, problem-solvers, and a little bit like rescue heroes! Using only paper clips, teamwork, and their best creative thinking, they worked together to save “Fred” the worm from the “ocean” and get him safely back into his boat. We love seeing our students collaborate, communicate, and have fun while learning!

What a fantastic first day back to school at W. J. Carroll Intermediate School! It was a great day to see old friends, meet new faces, and kick off the year with dedicated teachers. Here’s to new beginnings and great adventures ahead!

Students at Christ the King stepped out of their classrooms in prayer during a Eucharistic Procession led by Fr. Connor Plessala, with our 8th-grade students following behind. The procession made its way around campus, bringing Christ’s presence to every student on the first day of school.

Daphne High School’s Dance Team – Jubilee Girls – is hosting a dance clinic on September 7 at DHS Trojan Hall. Check-in time is 1:50 and ends with a parent performance at 4:15. There will also be a game day performance on Friday, September 12. Clinic participants can attend the game for free, parents or guardians must purchase a football ticket on GoFan or at the ticket gate

Day 1 is in the books at Daphne Middle School, and what a day it was! It’s great to be a Trojan!

The Daphne High School Class of 2026 enjoyed the tradition of their Senior Sunrise to celebrate the beginning of their senior year. Thank you to the DHS PTSO, SGA, and Senior Class Officers for working together to create a great experience for everyone.

The Nature Connect Kindergarten class had a fantastic graduation, celebrating a year full of learning, playing, and discovering the world around them. From counting sticks in the forest to observing bugs and birds up close, these curious minds explored nature with excitement and wonder every day.

The halls were alive with joy and excitement as CTK welcomed students back for the Saints Welcome! Students dropped off their supplies, met their dedicated teachers, and explored their new classrooms. Smiles were contagious, and the day was filled with warm reunions and happy anticipation for the year ahead!

There is no better day than a beautiful sunny day after many rainy days! We are soaking up these bright, summer days! Recess is the perfect time to spark imagination, get moving, and make new friends. These sweet kindergarten girls are loving every minute of their time at Christ the King Catholic School!

Art met adventure in Mrs. Griffith’s classes at Stonebridge Elementary School! Students unleashed their creativity by crafting amazing “All About Me Sculptures” that told their unique stories. But the excitement didn’t stop there – they transformed into history detectives and geography explorers, teaming up to tackle challenging questions about American History and Geography.

Baldwin County Public Schools and the Baldwin County Education Coalition proudly hosted the 2025 Gulf Regional Innovative Teaching Conference (GRITC) on July 21, 22, and 23, at Fairhope Middle school, welcoming educators from across Baldwin County, the state of Alabama, and the Gulf Coast Region. Now in its 17th year, GRITC continues to serve as a beacon of innovation and peer-to-peer learning in education.
This year’s conference brought together more than 1,000 participants who had the opportunity to choose from 392 dynamic sessions over three days, with topics tailored for every grade level and subject area. GRITC provides a unique opportunity for teachers to both learn and lead, empowering classroom professionals to share proven strategies, creative approaches, and meaningful tools that elevate instruction.
The GRITC model is intentionally designed to foster collaboration, connection, and creativity. Sessions are typically limited to 25 participants, allowing for more in-depth discussion and meaningful engagement, while a few select sessions are capped at no more than 40 attendees. At the end of each session, participants are given the ability to rate the session. This year’s conference yielded an average of 9.8 out of 10 for all sessions. And with a strong showing from both veteran and first-time presenters, 2025 proved once again that teacher-led professional development is both impactful and sustainable.

Baldwin County Virtual School is so proud of Qasean Heng!
Over the summer, Qasean attended the NASA Huntsville Space Academy for Leading Students in Alabama (SALSA) for a week on NASA Scholarship.
He broadened his knowledge tremendously from NASA scientists and astronauts and had so much fun engaging with like-minded peers. His biggest takeaway is ‘communication equals teamwork’, he is inspired to be a pilot.
