Bayshore Christian School Raise Awareness for Childhood Cancer

Bayshore students shone bright in Gold to raise awareness for childhood cancer, a cause that is especially close to several Bayshore families. Ribbons were sold and worn proudly; together, our community raised over $2,400 in support of this meaningful cause. At Bayshore Christian School, we believe support is everything, and we are grateful for the way our students and families came together to stand for hope, healing, and love.

St. Michael Catholic High School Hosts Inaugural Cardinal Cook-Off

St. Michael Catholic High School held its first-ever Cardinal Cook-Off on October 10, celebrating the school’s 10th anniversary with a night of food, fellowship, and friendly competition. The event coincided with the Cardinals’ home football game against Mobile Christian — a historic victory that clinched St. Michael’s first-ever regional championship.
Guests enjoyed an array of elevated outdoor fare — from brisket tacos and fried shrimp and oysters over grits, to boudin-stuffed pork tenderloin, classic ribs, pulled pork, baked beans, and, of course, banana pudding. The competing teams brought their A-game, filling the air with mouthwatering aromas and friendly competition.
Varsity Baseball Coach Peter Bezeredi, Father Connor Plessala, and Chad Barwick, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, had the difficult job of judging the entries. Jubilee Smoke earned the Best Overall trophy with their crowd-pleasing bacon-wrapped “Chicken Bombs.” Volanta Mafia took home Fan Favorite, the St. Michael teachers’ team, Pit-agogy, won Best Name, and Divinos Amigos claimed Most Spirit with their festive fiesta-themed set up.
“This event was a win-win-win,” said Noel Smeraglia, Major Events Coordinator at St. Michael. “Not only did it raise critical support for our Annual Fund, it was a wonderful opportunity for our Cardinal community to come together and celebrate. And to top it off, our football team clinched the school’s first-ever regional championship that same night — you really couldn’t ask for a better ending.”
Principal Dr. Andrea Williamson shared her gratitude for the outpouring of community support: “We’re so thankful for our sponsors, the teams, and our entire Cardinal Family. It was a joyful night to remember and an occasion that marks an exciting milestone in our school’s journey.”
Plans are already underway for next year’s Cook-Off as St. Michael continues to grow and celebrate its mission of forming students as scholars, leaders, and disciples of Jesus Christ.
