American Battlefield Trust Volunteer Day

American Battlefield Trust Park Day

For this year’s observance of the American Battlefield Trust’s national Park Day, Historic Blakeley State Park is hosting a special volunteer public archaeology day. Be a part of this unique opportunity to assist professional archaeologists in a thorough documentation of a part of Fort Blakeley known as “Redoubt 3,” recently acquired by the Historic Blakeley Foundation. This is an original portion of the Confederate defensive line constructed 1864-1865. The site is located just off of Cloverleaf Landing Road. From the main park entrance, go north 1.75 miles on Hwy. 225. Turn left onto Cloverleaf Landing Road, and proceed 1.4 miles to Cloverleaf Landing Road West.  Free but registration is required.  www.blakeleypark.com
